Sterile and sterilisable handles for greater independence and flexibility

The handle with Sterile Touch Control (STC) enables you to be independent from non-sterile personnel, allowing you to easily control your OR light on your own. The touch-sensitive technology is located on the top part of the handle for easy access. You can intuitively adjust the light field size or light intensity by doubletapping or sliding gesture respectively, of course while wearing surgical gloves. Using the lower part of the handle, you comfortably position the light for an optimum view. Its polygon shape ensures you a perfect force transfer and easy turning. The handle is designed from a single piece of durable plastic making sterilisation effortless.

The new sterile disposable handle lets you use the Sterile Touch Control (STC) function without any restrictions, and helps you to comply with your individual infection prevention protocols.

Easier operation – also for non-sterile personnel

The entire OR team benefits from the intuitive controls of the touch technology on the light head. The touch-sensitive light control panel allows you to let non-sterile personnel take over operation of the Polaris® 600 without interfering with the light’s positioning. The assistant can additionally operate the light via the wall panel instead of having to reach for it. Colour markings above the light head and on the wall panel help to clearly assign the individual controls to the lights. In synchronous mode, the settings are copied to all connected lights. This allows you to quickly and accurately adjust the light intensity and colour temperature of all Polaris 600 lights in the OR.

Exceptional light quality that’s easy to adjust

The adjustable colour temperature literally puts every procedure in the right light. The appropriate light is available for every surgical field, depending on the tissue structure, individual perception or surgical application. You can switch between four modes: from warm white to cold white (3800, 4400, 5000 and 5600 Kelvin), in order to help you focus, reduce fatigue or reduce glare during longer procedures. The light field can also be adjusted incrementally: The adjustable diameter quickly provides the right focus and optimal illumination for all types of surgery. Regardless of the surgical team’s positioning, the Polaris 600 sheds light on all important details of the surgical site without creating troublesome shadows.

Optional HD Camera with wireless video transfer

Upgrading with a high quality HD camera is possible at any time. The sterile handle no longer has to be replaced, because the camera is located directly in the light head under the transparent cover. The camera automatically adjusts to the current light conditions. Moreover, the 120x zoom delivers razor-sharp images. In addition, an encrypted video signal is transmitted wireless and continuously received in the OR. Operation of the video is performed via remote control and/or wall panel and allows your team to work undisturbed while spectators watch live.

Upgrading made simple

The design of the Polaris 600 takes into account both future-oriented technologies and the requirements of previous systems. It is simple to mount a Polaris 600 to an existing Dräger installation.

Similarly, the MedView camera does not require any on-site wiring, making upgrading an effortless task, easily performed by trained technicians. This means that your OR is ready to be used again quickly, so that your procedures will not be disrupted.

The clear, functional design of the Polaris 600 reflects the highest hygiene standards: Its smooth and disinfectant-proof surface and housing with integrated camera is quick and easy to clean.

Centralised control via integrated OR solution

The Polaris 600 is equipped with an integrated OR interface, which allows partners to control our lights and cameras. These integrated OR solutions enable our lighting- and video systems to be operated by partner systems, as well as to save, edit and forward video data conveniently. As a result, sharing your knowledge for training purposes has never been so simple: We help you connect with experts around the world.

The mobile Polaris 600

The mobile Polaris can be deployed in the operating room as an additional, standalone light – such as during cardiovascular procedures when the patient must be operated on in several different places at the same time. The high-quality, mobile light can, of course, also be deployed in emergency cases or in treatment rooms. The mobile Polaris 600 particularly proves its value when there is a lack of infrastructure and a secure, ceiling-mounted installation is not possible. Light intensity and colour temperature are also adjustable on the mobile versions via the light control panel. With up to 160,000 lux and a smooth cardanic mounting for exact positioning, the mobile version has no functional limitations.

Height adjustment supported by pneumatic springs allows for effortless adaptation to transport and operating conditions. In the fully extended position a working height of 2,175 mm is reached under the light head – ideal also for tall surgeons. The transport height of the mobile Polaris 600 is only 1,850 mm, however.

If the mains power supply to the system is lost, the light continues to be fed by the integrated battery with no interruption. The mobile light has up to three hours of battery operating life, which provides security of supply in the case of a power cut. LED status indicators on the chassis also display the status of the power supply and of the battery charge.
